Hi! We’re the VFamily!

In 2019, we decided to center our lives around our most valuable asset: time. Rather than living a traditional lifestyle driven by career or monetary gains (aka “the rat race”), we chose to make time our main priority. After much thought and consideration, we decided to live differently. We packed our things and headed to the Philippines.

Moving abroad and choosing an alternative lifestyle is a huge decision, and there’s not a lot of information out there about what it takes to make it happen. Most people have little or no idea what the total costs of moving an entire household overseas (in this case the Philippines) can be. But with a lot of hard work, communication, and planning, we’re now able to enjoy living as a family; we choose to spend time, not money.

We, Tasso and Micca, met in the Philippines in 2011. Our life began in love with life in front of us—all of the fantastic and troubling times included. While in the Philippines in 2017, we decided to start our family vlog. We use it to document our lives and our children's and to remember the times we had forever.

We have four children: two girls and two boys.

Our most recent series: 40Ft. SHIPPING CONTAINER EXPERIENCE - USA to PHILIPPINES explains all the nitty-gritty details of moving our things to the Philippines, including shipping, transportation time, size, cost, customs, brokers, and our personal recommendations and contact information for the people we contracted.

As we were on the typical path of social structure in the USA, we realized we were losing time together by working towards what seemed to be never-ending bills and expenses. We were spending our best years worrying about retirement. I was spending entirely too much time at work (trying to get ahead), while Micca, my wife, was on her own raising our children. How could we focus so much on the future while we had four beautiful children growing up right before our eyes?

After more than just a talk, we came to realize a couple of things that would set our move in motion. First, we learned that there are 950 weeks from the time a child is born until they are 18 years old. This puts into perspective how little time we have with our children. Waiting 30 years for retirement just wouldn’t work for us.

Second, we imagined our lives with two different priorities: money and time. If we achieved all of our financial dreams (paying off our house, owning property, establishing businesses) what would we truly have? Our children would be grown, and we spent their childhoods working—missing the most important things (years) that we had right in front of us the whole time, FAMILY!

So finally, we imagined our lives putting time at the center. We talked not only about retirement but traveling the USA in an RV, sailing the seas of Greece, visiting the city of Venice, roaming the beautiful planet Earth and ultimately settling in the Philippines or somewhere we discover along our travels. As George Bernard Shaw wrote, “A happy family is but an earlier heaven.”

We would trade all of our earthly possessions to have TIME with our children, each other and our family.

So we made the decision that the future is not unknown, it is NOW! We made many arrangements, packed our things, and pulled the trigger. We will live life for our Time and Family.

66 Sports Bar & Restaurant - Webb City 66 is "The Only Place to Be"

Chef V (Vasilios Voutiritsas) from Athens, Greece has been cooking for over 35 years. After jumping ship in Chicago in 1979, a couple years later, Chef V moved to Kansas City-where he worked with Tasso's Greek Restaurant, which is now located in Waldo. There he met the mother to his son, best friend and business partner, Tasso (Anastasios Voutiritsas).

After spending years in Kansas City and attending the well-known Johnson County Community College culinary program, Chef V held several positions in prestigious country clubs around town-finally, becoming Executive Chef at Bartle Hall, Kansas City's downtown Convention Center.

Tasso worked along side his father throughout the years and then in early 2000, they began to work back stage concerts at Sandstone Amphitheater and other venues in Kansas City, providing food and beverage for the traveling talent, production and local backstage management.

Around 2004, Chef V moved to Joplin and was hired by Mythos as Menu Creator and Executive Chef. In 2008, Tasso joined Chef V for a 1 year period as General Manager, and Chef as Executive Chef at Caldone's Italian Restaurant in downtown Joplin.

After going back on tour with the Transiberian Orchestra, they again joined up for the operation of Pitcher's Sports Bar-located in the hotel district of Joplin.

Finally in late 2013, the 1st 66 Sports Bar & Restaurant was born. in Joplin, MO, for over a year. After finding a second location in Webb City, they both decided to focus on the Webb City location and continue to operate the one and only 66 Sports Bar & Restaurant! The Only Place to be!

In 2019, Tasso and Micca became owner/operators of 66 Sports Bar & Restaurant.
